UK & EU Regulations for quality and safety standards for the handling of human tissues and cells, require all establishments collecting and processing human tissues and cells to be accredited as ‘tissue establishments’, inspected and accredited by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA).
According to the requirements of the Regulations, tissue establishments must establish and implement quality management systems to ensure the efficient and effective provision of high-quality, patient-focused services.
